Congratulations to Dr. Belihar, our month of June Inspire Award winner!
Dr. Belihar currently serves as the Medical Director of our CareHere HealthSigns Center in Brentwood, TN, a medical practice that centers upon comprehensive health assessment in conjunction with lifestyle management as the primary approach to disease management and healthy aging. Such assessments include history, physical exam, laboratory testing and special studies (audio, treadmill, etc.). Dr. Belihar received the Inspire award because of his commitment and service to his patients.
Widely traveled, he has visited 71 countries. Touched by the suffering he has witnessed in the Third World, he has often served as a medical missionary overseas. He and his wife, Anita, reside in Nashville, TN. They have three children and eight grandchildren.

ROBERT P. BELIHAR, M.S., M.D., M.P.H. (Left)
Dr. Belihar has been certified by the American Boards of Preventive Medicine (Sub-specialty Aerospace Medicine), Anti-Aging Medicine, and Ophthalmology. In addition to the Doctor of Medicine Degree, he has been awarded the Degrees of Master of Science, and Master of Public Health. He completed a highly successful career in the United States Air Force, retiring with the rank of Brigadier General. During his tour in the military, he held a wide range of positions, ranging from squadron flight surgeon to Command Surgeon at United States Central Command under Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf. While serving as CENTCOM Surgeon, he oversaw the establishment of a healthcare system for over 500,000 deployed personnel during Desert Shield/Desert Storm, including preparations for the enemy’s potential use of chemical and biological agents. At the time of his retirement from the USAF, Gen. Belihar was Commander of the Human Systems Center (HSC), Commander of Brooks Air Force Base, and Commandant of the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine. As commander of HSC, he had oversight of an organization of nearly 4,000 personnel, whose mission was dedicated to human performance enhancement, including participation in the development and management of the Air Force wellness and fitness programs.
